The PowerGeolab investigates interactions between the solid Earth and the environment to understand and address contemporary environmental challenges. Our research combines geochemistry, mineralogy, and geobiology, with a particular focus on mineral-based carbon dioxide removal, including CO₂ mineralization and enhanced rock weathering, as well as sustainable approaches to mineral resource development and mine waste management.
Our work spans fundamental laboratory investigations to field-scale studies and is highly collaborative, bringing together researchers and partners from academia and industry.
